Kanye X Nike "McFly"

Well, looks like the most shared common dream amongst sneaker nerds is coming closer and closer to reality. And NO, a desperate petition worded and signed by a collection of pitiable aspirants hoping for the release of a particular shoe is not the main catalyst in this potential deliverance. Rather, thousands of Nike adherents may very well owe all their life aspirations to none other than Kanye West!

There has been talk of Kanye potentially inking a deal with Nike to be the first non-athlete to sign with Nike. If all goes well, the Kanye X Nike McFly is slated to release sometime during Fall/Winter.

'Ye, Jay, Fitty, T.I. & Diddy

Yep, at Screamfest 2007 @ MSG. All of the above were all on stage together. So much for the beef between Kanyeezy & 50. Must've been an amazing show.

Regardless, 50 is still gonna get murked come September 11.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAND AT IT AGAIN

the Justin Timberland team back at it again. I didn't even think that they were a production team. I thought they just made the Futuresexlovesound CD together. Apparently not.

Taken from MTV.com
BTW unrelated note. The Rilo Kiley album Under the Blacklight, listen to it. It doesn't sound like anything theyve done but its still good. They're probably gonna get some heat for this one.

Timbaland is finally back in the States after touring overseas with Justin Timberlake, and yes — his trip was productive. Not only did the duo shoot a video with 50 Cent, but they also worked with a cultural icon.

"We just did Madonna's record," Timbo said, sitting in the "TRL" green room. He was part of the cavalcade of stars — including Kanye West, Common, Rihanna and Robin Thicke — who came out for the VMA press conference on Tuesday (see "MTV VMA Race Is On: Justin Timberlake, Beyonce Lead Nominations"). "Me and Justin did the records" for the album, he continued, saying Madonna is almost done with the effort. "She's great. ... She's got a hot album. Her album is up there with Justin's album."

Tim says he and Justin wrote and produced 10 songs for Madge's LP, many of which will make the club jump.

"Ah, man," Tim gushed. "There's this one song, we taking it back to 'You must be my luck-eee starrrr!' ... Remember 'Ugly' by Bubba Sparxxx? I got a beat similar to that. The hook is no words. It's saying stuff named after coffee — all these different names for coffee — is the hook. ... The name of the song is 'La, La.' Pharrell did a hot one for her too called 'Candy Shop.' She's off the chain."

The production legend said there isn't a title for the opus yet, but he will be reconvening with the singer in September to finish it up. Other than Madonna, 50 Cent is the only other person outside of Tim's Mosley Music Group that he's worked with lately.

"I did some more records for him," he said about his recent work for Fif. "I know he's gonna use them, but I don't know for which album — this one [Curtis] or the next one [Before I Self Destruct]."

During previous sessions, Timbaland produced "Ayo Technology" for 50 as well.

"That's London, baby," he smiled while talking about the song's wild video, in which there's some serious male/female interaction going on (see "50 Cent Suits Up For 'Ayo Technology' Clip With Justin Timberlake, Timbaland"). "London all day. We didn't do our scenes together. I was tired. I don't know what [50] was doing. I know I was tired, I know he was tired. It was fun, man. When I saw all them girls, I was like, 'Where they get all these girls from?' Then I went back to sleep."

As for what else is going on within Tim's musical family, that cutie Keri Hilson is getting her debut right (see "Timbaland Protege/ Justin Timberlake Collaborator Keri Hilson: You Need To Know Me") and Tim and Missy Elliott have been talking about doing another album together.

ANOTHER DAFT PUNK POST

Heres another Daft Punk post by me. taken from billboard.com

Daft Punk
August 14, 2007, 4:40 PM ET
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
Daft Punk will in late November release a live album chronicling the June 14 Paris stop on its first tour in a decade, Billboard.com can reveal. The as-yet-untitled Capitol set will be available in a single CD edition plus a two-disc set which features the show's encore. As of now, no live DVD companion is in the works, according to the group.

"We're from Paris and we hadn't played there for 10 years," Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter told Billboard last Friday, the afternoon following the tour closer in Brooklyn, N.Y. "It must have been a special night for the audience, as well as for us."

The tour version of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" will be issued as a single from the live set, and a video, directed by Oliver Gondry, will feature footage shot by fans at the Brooklyn show. "It is a montage of people shooting the song in the audience with 250 cameras," Bangalter says. "We were inspired by the Beastie Boys' 'Awesome, I F***in' Shot That!' and tried to do that in a four-minute video."

Daft Punk will return to the U.S. in late October for a performance at the Vegoose Festival in Las Vegas, and is weighing offers for more shows next year. After such a long layoff from live performance, the group admits it was blown away by the response to the recent North American shows, which included a co-headlining performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago.

"We pretty much felt it everywhere, which was fascinating," Bangalter says. "It was a big deal each time. It's a big deal for us each time, too, which is what keeps it fresh."

With a stroke of good timing, Daft Punk is also in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to the "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" sample Kanye West utilizes on his new hit, "Stronger."

The two acts did not collaborate in the studio, and the actors who portray the Daft Punk robots in the film "Electroma" took Bangalter and partner Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo's place in the "Stronger" video. But the pair say they are thrilled with how West's track turned out, having heard first heard it on Los Angeles station Power 106 while waiting for a recent flight to San Francisco.

"The DJ had made an edit of our song at the beginning and then it turned into his song," de Homem-Christo says. "Our song had a good sound, but when he put Kanye's record on, the sound was really fat. It sounds really big. It's not a collaboration in the studio, but the vibe of the music we do separately connected in what he did with the song."

Britney Spears Loses

I recently read that Britney and K-Fed are officially divorced. While I don't really care about either of them, I can't help but look back to that cute cuddly "oops I did it again" girl and think to myself, "damn she dun fucked up". Like really fucked up. Like when you accidentally call your girlfriend by another girl's name. Except she does it everyday of her life... on TV/Magazine covers/Youtube ect. Lets explore how this cute cuddly teeny-bopper became the Ryan Leaf of the world.

Yup, it was this guy.

Britney fell victim to this man. Kevin Federline is the American Dream. Hands down. You can hate on him, but how can you really hate on him? He went from rags to riches for real. He started out with Shar Jackson (the other girl from Moesha) and moved up to Britney Spears. That's an upgrade if I've ever seen one. Yeah he may be a walking embarrassment, he may have made popozao but shit...we can all learn something from him.

K-Fed isn't the only winner resulting from Britney's unmentionable losing streak. Christina Aguilera wins because although she played Scottie Pippen for years as Britney's runner up, she still has a respectable career, sanity and beauty; none of which Britney has. Justin Timberlake also wins. Talk about getting out before the stock plummets. He bounced, went on to Cameron Diaz then went onto Jessica Biel? Damn this man can do no wrong. Album is on point. Blooming acting career. Music career is at an all time high. Jessica Biel!!!

Damn Britney, at some point you're gonna look back and realize you lose. This story is tragedy as well as triumph. The point of this blog is not to pick on Britney or romanticize anyone else, but the point of this blog is to learn from other people's mistakes as well as other people's genius. Shame on you.

KANYE/PBJ & SHARON JONES/DENZEL

BOTH TAKEN FROM PITCHFORKMEDIA

"Indie bands, here's how you know you've made it: Kanye West not only rhymes over your song, but asks you to be his backing band. That's just what has happened to Peter Bjorn and John, as the Louis Vuitton Don has invited PBJ to accompany him when he plays Gothenburg, Sweden's Way Out West Festival August 11 (which, surprise surprise, they're also playing). No word on whether they've accepted, but if they do, think they'll play "Young Folks"?

Ah, to fly around the world on the strength of a song. The recently famous Swedish popsters (who, it should be noted, have three whole albums worth of songs practically as good as "Young Folks") will re-issue the single for their Victoria Bergsman-assisted unlikely megasmash Setepmber 17 in the UK on Wichita Recordings. The multiformat single will spread remixes from Diplo, Phones, and Beyond the Wizards around its three versions, and stick "Ancient Curse" (which can be found in the U.S. on the Almost Gold-issued expanded edition of Writer's Block) on the back of its 7".

Peter Bjorn and John are presently on the road, where they'll stay for quite some time. Tonight they kick off their latest American tour, which hits Lollapalooza and the Virgin Festival this weekend."

"Sharon Jones Scores Role in Denzel Film, Tours Ms. Sharon Jones and her fabulous Dap-Kings (who may be the only people on the planet more sick of Amy Winehouse than you and me) have lined up North American tour surrounding the October 2 release of their sure-to-be-smokin' LP3 100 Days, 100 Nights on Daptone. The tour proper doesn't begin until November, but Sharon and the Kings will herald the new album in style with a show at Harlem's world famous Apollo Theater on October 6.

Wonder where Sharon's been while her band's taken over the globe, backing up Ms. Winehouse? Well, aside from kicking it with Lou Reed and guesting with Rufus Wainwright and They Might Be Giants (!), she's been hanging out in Hollywood. Jones will play a small role as a soul singer (quite a stretch) in the forthcoming flick The Great Debaters, directed by and starring Denzel Washington. It's scheduled for a Christmas Day release. And, because Denzel knows on which side his bread is buttered, he's pegged Sharon to contribute a few tracks to the film's soundtrack"

Sharon Jones herself just completed filming the role of "Lila" in the upcoming film The Great Debaters. Denzel Washington both directed and stars in the film along with Forest Whitaker. Sharon plays a "Juke Joint" singer named "Lila" and has both a speaking part and is featured singing the Lucille Bogan classic "That's what my Baby Likes". She also recorded additional songs which will be included in the official soundtrack to the film. The movie is a Weinstein Co release and is due out on Christmas Day. Denzel Washington hand-picked Sharon from a quickly made DVDo of her live performances and applauded her on-screen talents.

I NEEDS TO GO TO THAT SHOW IN DECEMBER........SHARON!!!
